Faith That Sees the Invisible

Moses persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.

Faith in Hebrews 11 is never passive—it is a courageous trust that changes the whole direction of a life. It begins quietly, as with Moses’ parents who “saw that he was no ordinary child” and entrusted him to God when the world around them sought to destroy him (Hebrews 11:23). Instead of clinging to control, they placed their son into God’s hands, believing His purposes would outlast Pharaoh’s threats. Their example invites every parent to ask: Have we trusted God to guard and guide our children? True faith opens its hands, trusting that God can shape the lives of those we love more wisely and beautifully than we ever could.

Moses himself embodies this same kind of faith. He grew up standing between two doors: one carved with the gold of Pharaoh’s palace, the other weathered by desert winds. One promised comfort, status, and power; the other offered obedience, hardship, and identification with a suffering people. Hebrews 11:24–26 tells us Moses deliberately turned his back on the palace door and stepped through the desert door because he valued the call of God above the comfort of Egypt. He demonstrated that faith is not only belief—it is choosing the less glamorous door because God’s presence is behind it. And because Moses chose God over ease, God used him. 

Moses endured “because he saw Him who is invisible.” The palace door was visible; the desert door was real; but what sustained him was the God he could not see, whose presence outweighed every earthly reward or threat. Faith gave Moses the capacity to look beyond the gleam of Egypt’s power to the greater glory of God. Pharaoh’s anger, Israel’s complaints, and the vast wilderness could not turn him back because he had fixed his eyes on a reality more solid than any palace—God Himself. This is the secret of endurance for every believer. We persevere not because the path is easy, but because, like Moses, we see the One who guides us. And when the invisible God becomes our focus, the desert becomes a place of purpose, each step becomes an act of hope, and every costly choice becomes a doorway that leads deeper into the life God has prepared.

Prayer

Lord, strengthen our faith today. Help us trust You with our children, our choices, and our futures. Teach us to choose Christ above comfort, persevere through trials, and expect You to act with power and grace. Help us look beyond temporary values to the eternal treasure of Your Kingdom. We lean our whole weight on You—our faithful God and our everlasting hope. Amen.
